Reefers started with a simple question: Why are we letting so much energy go to waste?
Every time a diesel engine runs, it gives off heat that usually disappears into thin air. Our retrofit system captures that heat and turns it into usable power, cutting fuel costs and reducing emissions without changing how people operate their equipment.

How Our Founder Youssef Created the idea for REEFERs Technologies
“Everywhere I looked, construction sites, highways, and job sites, diesel engines were running nonstop. Pouring out heat, emissions, and fuel into the air. Not because people didn’t care, but because there wasn’t a better option. That’s what got to me.”

Youssef had always been drawn to engineering, but Reefers wasn’t born out of curiosity; it was built from frustration. Frustration with how much damage we’re doing to the planet in the name of “efficiency.” It wasn’t just about pollution; it was about wasted potential. He kept thinking: what if we could turn even a fraction of that waste into something useful?
That thought became the foundation of Reefers: not to disrupt the world, but to help it run cleaner, smarter, and more sustainably using the systems we already have in place.

Youssef Demahskieh
Founder & CEO
Youssef Demahskieh leads the team with sharp strategic insight and a deep passion for innovation. Currently pursuing his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at York University, he brings four years of research and one year of hands-on manufacturing experience to the table. As the driving force behind REEFERS Technologies, Youssef is committed to building a more sustainable future through smarter, cleaner energy solutions.
Ammar Alhinawi
Business Lead
Ammar Alhinawi is the Founding and Managing Partner of United CPAs with over 25 years of experience in consulting, auditing, and finance. He began his career at a Big Four firm and later held executive roles including Chief Audit Executive and CFO at a regional public corporation. Ammar brings deep financial expertise and startup experience, having co-founded a successful venture in Ontario, making him a key strategic business lead to the team.

Leping Huang drives REEFERS Technologies’ expansion into new markets with a focus on strategic partnerships and long-term growth. With a background in business development and cleantech scaling, he plays a key role in identifying opportunities and executing vision-led initiatives that increase our impact across industries and regions.

Gabriel Nadelea brings decades of hands-on experience in the transportation sector, with a background that spans reefer truck operations, automotive manufacturing, and logistics across Europe. With a diploma in the automotive industry and past roles at VW in Germany and in the tanks industry in Romania, he leads our logistics with a practical, problem-solving mindset and a deep understanding of the field.
