FAQ

Common Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding our technology.

Our retrofit system captures excess heat generated by a truck’s diesel engine and converts it into clean electricity. This electricity powers the reefer (refrigerated trailer unit), eliminating the need for a separate diesel generator. The result: lower fuel consumption, fewer emissions, and reduced operating costs — all without altering your truck’s core functions.

Our system is designed to integrate with most Class 8 trucks and standard diesel-powered reefer trailers. It works best with long-haul and regional fleets that operate continuously. Installation is non-invasive and can be tailored to your existing equipment, making it ideal for both new and in-service vehicles.

Most early adopters are expected to see a return on investment (ROI) between 8–18 months, depending on usage, fleet size, and diesel pricing. For high-utilization fleets, ROI may arrive even sooner. A detailed savings simulation is available on our website to help you estimate your specific payback window.

Installation typically takes 24 to 48 hours per vehicle:

  • 24 hours is usually sufficient to complete a full retrofit under normal conditions.

  • Up to 48 hours may be required for final calibration, testing, and customer confirmation.

Yes — the system is fully reversible. It’s a non-invasive retrofit, meaning it can be removed without impacting the truck’s core components or voiding warranties. This flexibility is especially useful for leased fleets or resale planning.

By cutting CO₂ emissions with our system, your fleet may be eligible to earn carbon credits — which can be sold or applied toward compliance requirements in regulated markets. These credits can generate direct financial returns, turning your sustainability efforts into a new revenue stream.

Additionally, lowering emissions enhances your company’s ESG profile, helps win environmentally conscious contracts, and prepares you for upcoming zero-emission mandates in Canada and the U.S.

No — our system is designed to operate independently of the engine’s core functions and does not interfere with the engine control unit (ECU), fuel system, or emissions controls.

Because it’s a non-invasive retrofit, it does not void OEM warranties when installed correctly. We work closely with certified technicians and follow industry-standard best practices to ensure compatibility and compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
